Results Analysis

Once a Best Value Solution is implemented successfully, it is important to measure the results periodically. The right results are paramount. The solution was conceived and implemented for the purpose of delivering measurable value to the corporation. The results must be measured to assure that the expected value is in fact being realized.

The implementation strategy should have identified the metrics by which the solution can be determined as a success or failure and to what degree. An audit process should be designed that will gather the precise information defined by the metrics. This information should then be analyzed and compared to the metrics. Goals should be established and data analyzed and trended on a rolling 12-month cycle.

If the metrics are not being met, the underlying cause should be analyzed and determined. Corrective action should then be developed and implemented. The analysis might take one of several forms, such as a highly focused investigation, or it could be much broader resembling a Risk Evaluation. Whatever the form of the investigation, the objective is to determine the true cause or causes for the failure to meet the metrics. This learning process becomes the foundation for Process Improvement.
