Phil Friday Named in Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s “40 Under 40”

Duluth, GA – May 27, 2009. Harrington Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that Phillip A. Friday, P.E. has been named a recipient of Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s “40 Under 40” award. The award is presented annually to 40 building industry engineers under the age of 40 who shine in their academic, professional, personal, and community achievements. Mr. Friday joined Harrington Group in 2002 as a Fire Protection Engineer and was named the 4th principal owner of the firm in 2008. In addition to his role at the firm, he serves as the President of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and is also an active member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), serving as a voting member of the NFPA Hazardous Chemicals Committee. Mr. Friday is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Masters in Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee. With over nine years of experience in the fire protection engineering consulting field, he is an expert in fire protection system design, building and fire code analysis, fire origin and cause determination, forensic fire reconstruction and analysis using computer modeling and laboratory testing, and fire protection system failure analysis.
