Simon Goodhead Recognized for Involvement in Fire Safety Engineering Design Award
Duluth, GA - November 1, 2007. Simon Goodhead, Senior Fire Protection Consultant for Harrington Group, Inc.'s Duluth office was recently recognized for his involvement with Arup Fire's winning of the Fire Safety Engineering (FSE) Design Award. The award was presented to Arup Fire for their fire safety design of several buildings at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. The buildings included a high-rise student residence hall, classroom buildings, and a large auditorium.
The FSE Design Award is a prestigious award in the UK, which was developed to recognize those in the field who apply fire protection engineering principles to meet specific needs of buildings and projects. This award was first established in 2001 with the purpose of raising the awareness of fire safety design, as well as to encourage innovation within design, and promote best practices in the field.
Mr. Goodhead is a graduate from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom with his B.S. in Fire Science. Prior to Harrington Group, Simon served as a Senior Fire Protection Engineer at Arup Fire in Manchester, England, where he developed fire safety solutions with architects and clients for new and existing buildings.
